New ASTM Subcommittee WK55885 to Develop Standards for Seismic Risk Assessment Of Real Estate Portfolios

Bill Graf, Vice President of Engineering for ImageCat, currently serves as the technical chairman of a new subcommittee for the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) to develop a standard for seismic risk assessment of real estate portfolios.  The subcommittee includes engineering service providers, commercial real estate owners and lenders, catastrophe modelers (e.g., RMS, AIR Worldwide, CoreLogic) and insurance industry representatives (brokers and insurers).  A major focus is the use of engineering consultants to improve the modeling of the large, high-value clusters of properties near active faults that drive portfolio-wide risks.
